MABEL MARIE DOWNS's Obituary
Mrs. Mabel Marie Downs of Georgetown, DE passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. She was 89 years old. Mrs. Downs was born on August 4, 1925 in Georgetown, DE to the late Leroy E. and Estella M. Moore Mitchell. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Lee Downs in 1965, a brother, Leroy Mitchell, sister-in-law, Jean Mitchell and a granddaughter, Samantha Long. Mabel was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her husband and children. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and family dinners. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed. She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Workman and her husband Jack of Seaford, DE; Carolyn Long and her husband Bill of Georgetown, DE; and Holly Marie Pusey and her husband Jay of Delmar, DE; one son, Bruce Downs and his wife Michelle of Cape Coral, FL; a brother, Billy Mitchell along with ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October, 17, 2014 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 10:00 AM.
