MARGARET WHALEY's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret E. Downes Whaley of Millsboro, DE passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Atlantic Shores Nursing Home in Millsboro. She was 91 years old. Mrs. Whaley was born in Gumboro, DE on September 17, 1923 to the late Ernest F. and Nancy P. Mitchell Downes. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Arris Whaley in 1993, two sons, Earl Whaley in 2001, Irvin Whaley in 2006 and a daughter, Rachel Whaley Gray in 2004. Margaret was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her husband and five children, and also baby sat for her grandchildren. Margaret also liked watching TV. She is survived by three sons, Vernon Whaley and his wife Debbie of Chambersburg, PA; Adrian Whaley and his wife, Mary of Millsboro, and John Whaley and his wife Deborah of Frankford, DE. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Joseph Whaley, Kevin Whaley, Adrian Whaley, Jr., and Courtney Whaley as well as several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 6, 2014, at Dagsboro Redmen's Memorial Cemetery, Iron Branch Road in Dagsboro. Pastor Bob Hudson will officiate.
