Marie Ellen Phillips' Obituary
Marie Ellen Phillips, 78, of Dagsboro, DE, passed away peacefully at home on November 6, 2025. She was born on March 15, 1947, in Millsboro, DE, the daughter of the late Franklin and Madeline (Baker) Mitchell.
Marie attended Millsboro High School and went on to enjoy a long and dedicated career as a supervisor for Vlasic and later Pinnacle Foods Inc., where she worked from 1973 until her retirement in 2015.
In her free time, Marie loved watching NASCAR and cheering for her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. She enjoyed getting lost in a good romance novel and spending time camping with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Milton Phillips, her sons Robin Phillips and Christopher Phillips; great granddaughter Jenna Phillips as well as her brothers, Roger Mitchell and John Mitchell.
Marie is survived by her loving children: Denise “Dee” Morris (Jeff), William “Duke” Phillips (Beth), Sharon Phillips, Beverly Downs, Donna Phillips, Craig Phillips (Barbara) Keith Phillips (Cheryl), and Jamie Vil (Jean Paul); her brother, Emory Mitchell; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Watson Funeral Home and Crematorium, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may visit from 10:00–11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Millsboro, DE.
