Mary Ann Cross' Obituary
Mrs. Mary Ann Cross of Millsboro, DE passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the Delaware Hospice Center. She was 71 years old.
Mrs. Cross was born in Accomac County, VA to the late Randolph Lee and Anna Bell Joynes Thomas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Deroy, David and Gerald Lee Thompson.
She worked as a CNA at the Holly Center in Salisbury, MD. She also worked for Mountaire for 15 years and also Salisbury Taxi for 9 years. Mary enjoyed crochet, word puzzles, games shows and especially the Steve Harvey Show. She was a caring person, practical and sincere and loved her family as well as her job at the Holly Center.
Mary is survived by her husband of 38 years, Herman H. Cross, Jr. of Salisbury, MD, four children, Theresa Thomas of Millsboro, DE, Ruth Ann Thomas of Millsboro, DE, Ronnie Thomas of Millsboro, DE, Patricia Thomas of Augusta, GA and a step son Daryl Turner of Salisbury, MD. She is also survived by one sister, Shirley Thompson and five brothers, Bradley, Wydell, Donell, Douglas, and William Harvey Thompson. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren to cherish her memory. Mary is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at St. John 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Rd, Millsboro, DE 19966 where friends may call from 11 AM to 12 Noon for viewing and visitation. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
