MARY ANN HALLETT's Obituary
Mary Ann Hallett, 60, of Ellendale, DE and formerly of Frankford, DE, peacefully departed this life on Friday, November 25, 2016. She was born September 15, 1956 to Pearlis Sturgis, Sr. and the late Adelle (Lillard) Mumford. She was preceded in death by her daughter, April Lillard.
Mary, known to many as Mary Ann, had a very caring and giving heart and she loved children. During her earlier years, she worked as a nurse's aide and was a daycare provider.
She will lovingly be remembered by one daughter: Tracey Lillard of Salisbury, MD; three grandchildren whom resided with her: Shur`Myra Lillard, Ityré Lillard and Anthony Hood, Jr.
7 sisters: Barbara Mumford of Frankford, Deborah Morris of Millsboro, Janice Williams of Millsboro, Samantha (Donnie) Smith of Douglasville, GA, Deborah Norville of NC, Lisa (Gilbert) Turner of SC; Ingrid Rouzier; 8 brothers: Roland Mumford, Jr. of Douglasville, GA, Earlest Mumford of Milford, DE, Walter (Candy) Mumford of Laurel, DE, William (Tory) Hardy of Millsboro, DE, Pearlis (Sandra) Sturgis, Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA, Craig Sturgis of GA, Eric Sturgis of NY and Jordan Jones of CA; one great aunt: Frances Dismuke of Salisbury, MD; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her mother (Adelle) and daughter (April), Mary was also preceded in death by grandparents, Samuel and Anna Clara Chandler; Mary Lou Isabelle Cuffee Sturgis; two sisters: Stephanie Mumford and Pearline Sturgis; one brother: Terry Mumford; and brother-in-law: Kenton Williams.
Friends of the family are welcome to attend the viewing Friday, December 2, 2016, from 10 - 11 AM at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Bishopville, MD. The homegoing service will begin at 11 AM, followed by Interment at the church before the immediate family proceeds to Woodlawn Memorial cemetery. Evangelist Mary Alice Johnson will officiate.
