Obituary for Mary Liza Jackson
Mary Liza Jackson, daughter of the late Harriett and Reverend George C. Bailey was born on September 22, 1933 in Jamesville, Virginia. She departed this life on Friday, October 9, 2020 at her home in Millsboro, Delaware. She was 87 years old.
She was educated in the public-school system in North Hampton, County Virginia.
Mary was united in holy matrimony to the late Corporal Raymond Lee Jackson on April 28, 1953 in Jamesville, Virginia.
She loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to gospel music with her favorite being "I Can't Give Up". She had a good sense of humor and loved laughing and joking around.
Mary leaves to cherish her fond memories to her three daughters Linda L. Dorsey (Alex), Gladys M. Harmon, and Mary Emma Jackson (who was also her caregiver) all of Millsboro, Delaware. She also leaves behind three sons, Ronnie M. Jackson and Forrest Jackson of Millsboro, Delaware, and Anthony R. Jackson (Linda) of Willingboro, New Jersey. She is also survived by one sister-in-law Leonora Bailey of Millsboro, Delaware, as well as 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 11 AM - 12 Noon for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
