MARY LOU BAKER ORENDORF's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Lou Baker Orendorf of Gumboro, DE passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014. She was 75 years old. Mary Lou was born on August 18, 1939 in Salisbury, MD to the late Victor B. Baker, Sr. and Mary A. West Baker. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Donald and a nephew, David B. Baker. She retired from the State of DE where she worked as a Secretary for the Indian River School District. She was a member of Gumboro United Methodist Church, Joshua House Ministries, Gumboro Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the Gumboro Community Center. Mary Lou was an extraordinary woman who was filled with determination. She never wavered from her goals and ""no"" meant ""find another way."" Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Donna Lou Brittingham of Gumboro, DE; two grandchildren, Shannon and Ashley Brittingham, two great grandsons, Cameron and Cross, one brother, Victor B. Baker, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Gumboro, DE, two nieces, Vicky Baker Evans and her husband Les of Dagsboro, DE and Lori Jacobs and her husband Billy of Dover, DE; one nephew, Jeff Baker and his wife Michele of Georgetown, DE and one aunt, Virginia Millman of Rehoboth Beach, DE. She is also survived by two devoted friends, Pauline Wescott and Jeannette Bonner, her feline friends ""Buddy"" and ""Sam,"" as well as several great nieces, great nephews, extended family and a multitude of friends. A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 12 Noon. Burial will follow at Millsboro Cemetery.
