MARY ALLENE WILLIAMS's Obituary
Mary Allene Hopkins-Williams, daughter of the late Charles E. and Bertha Andrews-Hopkins, was born on March 8, 1925 in Frankford, Delaware. She departed this life to live in her mansion just over the hilltop on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Harbor Nursing Home, Lewes, Delaware. She was educated in Frankford and Laurel School Districts and was a retired employee of Townsend's Poultry Plant (now Mountaire) of Millsboro, Delaware. ""Allene,"" as she was known by family and friends, was a dedicated member of Zoar United Methodist Church of Selbyville, Delaware. Allene was known in Sussex County for her famous white potato pies. She enjoyed going out to dinner with her church sisters and brothers. She was always available to lend a helping hand to her family when it came to raising the many nieces and nephews. She loved to be surrounded by little children, they were her joy. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Lloyd Williams of Selbyville, DE; four sisters: Ruth Hall, Catherine Davis, Joyce Rickards, and Grace Hopkins; three brothers: Paul C., Harrison and Charles E. (Eddie) Hopkins. Allene leaves to cherish her memories, one sister, Rachel A. Powell of Dover, Delaware; one brother, Donald L. Hopkins (wife, Mabel) of Georgetown, Delaware, one caregiver/niece, Barbara Scott of Millsboro, Delaware, caregiver/nephew, James Williams of Ellendale, Delaware, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her Zoar church family visited her frequently. Her favorite hymn was ""I am Redeemed"". Funeral service will be held at Zoar United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 12 noon. Viewing will be from 11:00 am to 12 noon. In Lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Zoar UMC, Selbyville, DE.
