Minnie F Hitchens, Beebe retiree
Minnie F. Hitchens, 76 of Lewes passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Beebe Healthcare. She was born in Lewes on May 31, 1939 to the late William and Sadie (Harwood) Taylor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a dear aunt and uncle Robert and Lula Fisher; two brothers, Robert and James, and her sisters Lula, Virginia, Nettie Taylor and Blanche Slater; Three brother in laws Robert D. Stevenson, Daniel Littleton, and Fred D Slater; two sister in laws Pearl Franklin and Doris Adkins.
She is survived by her husband Lawrence Vernon Hitchens; a brother Edgar Taylor; two sisters Pauline Stevenson and Bertha Littleton; she was a second mother to Carol Ann Miller, her niece; and also has many beloved nieces and nephews.
Also known as Chevy lady, she had many CB friends over the years.
She will be remembered for always taking care of others and her jolly personality.
Funeral services will take place at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. Millsboro, DE 19966 on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 1 pm. A visitation for family and friends will take place starting at Noon. Interment services will be at St. John's cemetery on RT 30.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Conley's Methodist Church 33106 Jolyn's Way Lewes, De. 19958.
