NORMA J PARKER's Obituary
Mrs. Norma J. Parker of Georgetown, formerly of Alabama and California, passed away on March 19, 2014 at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood, DE after a short illness. Norma was born on August 17, 1929 in Port Huron, MI. She was the daughter of the late David and Leila Thompson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joseph C. Parker in 2009. She was a retired Financial Secretary with the Huntington Beach Union High School District in CA. She loved counted cross stitch and listening to classical music. Norma was a loving, caring mother, and a "people person" with the biggest heart. She owned cookbooks galore, and USED THEM! She is survived by one daughter, Susan L. Parker of Georgetown, DE; one brother, David Thompson of Marysville, MI; two nephews, Mark and Michael Thompson; She is also survived by Janet Ware, Evelyn Parker, Jerry Parker and his wife Peggy, and Ralph Parker all of Georgetown, DE, Pat Harris and husband Mike, and Pete Chaffinch of Seaford, DE; Dale Parker of Blades, Richard Parker of Laurel and Joe Moore of FL. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Millsboro Cemetery. Pastor James Van Der Wall will officiate.
