Norman Lee Garrison, Jr.'s Obituary
Norman Lee Garrison, Jr., of Dover, Delaware departed this life on Monday, October 10, 2022, at the age of 84. Norman affectionately known as "Neg" to family and friends was born in Pungoteague, Accomack County, Virginia on June 9, 1938, to the late Norman Lee "Nubby" Garrison, Sr. (1997) and Irene Ruth Garrison (1984).
He was educated in the Accomack Public School System. Though his education was limited, he excelled in life working as a fork-lift driver for 35 years at General Food, Inc., until his retirement in 2001. After retirement, he briefly worked as a bus driver for Kent County Public School System. Norman loved to travel and meet new people.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey McKinley Garrison (1958), one brother, Francis Eugene Garrison (1981); sister, Yvonne "Vilee" Garrison Parker (2010); nieces, Valarie Garrison (2011), Connie Rae Garrison (2014); nephew, Donald Ray Garrison (2017); great-niece, Tara Lynn Garrison (2020) and a devoted friend Nora Rodgers (2013).
Left to cherish his memories are: Ex-wife, Rosie Mae (Savage) Garrison-Showell, Camden, DE; sons Delbert Maurice Garrison (Tina) Millsboro, DE; Ray Anthony Garrison, Dover, DE; grandson, Ray Anthony Garrison Jr.; four brothers, Charles Louis Garrison (Ruby) and Brooks Eugene Garrison (Grace), Frankford, DE; Gene "Billy" Autrey Garrison (Glenda), Salisbury, MD; Paris Hall, Clarksville, DE; one (1) sister, Annie "Peachy Girl" Elizabeth Williams, Frankford, DE and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM for viewing and visitation. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Frankford, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the DE Coalition Against Domestic Violence 100 W. 10th St. #903, Wilmington, DE 19801.
