NORWOOD JAMES SIMPLER's Obituary
Mr. Norwood J. Simpler of Millsboro, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. He was 80 years old.
Mr. Simpler was born on August 6, 1935 in Dagsboro, DE to the late James and Thelma Long Simpler.
He retired from Acme Markets after 42 years of service as a department manager. He also worked for Intervet for 15 years, before he fully retired. Norwood loved NASCAR especially #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. He also enjoyed fishing and pulling jokes on people. He loved everyone and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris E. Simpler of Millsboro, DE; a daughter, Donna Flood and her husband Chuck of Millsboro, DE; two sisters, Sylvia Mears of Dagsboro, DE; and Janet Smith and her husband Robert of Dagsboro, DE; mother-in-law, Margie Lewis of Millsboro, DE; along with a very special friend Mark Cahall who became "the son he never had." He is also survived by extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Blackwater Fellowship Church, 34492 Roxana Road, Frankford, DE 19945.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in Norwood's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
