OTTO M MUMFORD, JR.'s Obituary
Mr. Otto M. Mumford, Jr. of Selbyville, DE passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016. He was 79 years old.
Mr. Mumford was born in Bishop, MD on April 19, 1936 to the late Otto M. Mumford, Sr. and Lottie Jane Showell Mumford. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Mumford in 2015 and a sister Margaret Mumford.
Otto worked as a truck driver for various companies including H&H, Hitchens Brothers and Holly Farms. He was a member of St. John's A.M.E. Church in Bishopville, Md.
He is survived by a daughter, Lottie Francis of Selbyville, DE and a son, Ricky Sturgis and his wife Patricia of Dagsboro, DE; a brother, James Mumford and his wife Natalie of Bishop, MD, along with 10 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, special friends Warner Custis and "Fox", as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Curtis United Methodist Church, 11827 Campbelltown Rd, Bishopville, MD 21813.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to help offset final expenses. Make checks payable to Lottie Francis or Ricky Sturgis and mail to St. John's A.M.E. Church, PO Box 357, Bishopville, MD 21813.
