OZIE VANN's Obituary
Obituary of Mr. Ozie Vann Mr. Ozie Vann, age 90 of Rehoboth, passed away on December 16, 2013 at Beebe Medical Center, in Lewes, DE. He was born on March 14, 1923 in Baxley, Georgia to the late Robert D. and Alice Miller Vann. He was the youngest of eleven children. He was retired from the Delaware Department of Transportation, Highway Division. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his beloved wife of 57, Gertrude. He was a Christian man, and attended Faith United Methodist Church, in Rehoboth. He was a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post in Rehoboth, and was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He led an active life, liked Bible reading and discussion and was an amateur Bible scholar. He survived by his son, Clyde Vann and his wife, Mimi, of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends. A funeral service and Celebration of His Life is scheduled for Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church, 500 West 4th St., Lewes, DE where friends may call from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM for visitation. Rev. George Edwards is the host pastor, and Pastor Jerome Tilghman will eulogize. Interment follows at Friendship Baptist Church's Cemetery with Military Honors. Floral tributes are welcomed.
