Patricia C. Droney's Obituary
Patricia C. Droney, age 81 of Millville, DE, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She was born at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, DE on February 6, 1942, daughter of the late Lambert and Virginia Solomon Foulk.
Mrs. Droney grew up in Seaford, DE and attended Goldey Beacom College. She married the love of her life, Thomas Droney in 1962 and together they had two sons. Mrs. Droney worked as a teacher’s aide at Frankford Elementary School for many years. She also worked summers at Bootsies BBQ in Ocean View. Pat enjoyed staying at home watching her television programs and taking her daily walk over to see her grandpups. She attended St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Millsboro, DE and the Cheer Center in Ocean View, DE. She always looked forward to spending her winters in Melbourne Florida. Mrs. Droney was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Droney, a son Christopher Droney and a sister Lisa Ellis. Mrs. Droney is survived by one son Clarke T Droney (Carol) of Millville, DE and one sister, Kit Crouch (Ron) of Newburn, NC. She was blessed with four grandchildren: Richard Walls Jr. (Brianna), Mark Droney (Hannah), Jay Droney (Megan) and Katie Droney along with seven great grandchildren: Melody Walls, Waylan Walls, Ella Wallace, Patrick Droney, Parker Droney, Axyl Walls, and Lennox Droney. Mrs. Droney also cherished her nieces and nephews: Sandra Peters (Bob), Michael Bouchard (Sharon), Kim Ellis (Giovanni), Whitney Yenesel (Ron), Megan Ellis (Jay),Jinni Forcucci (DJ), Alexa Fausey (Bob) and Carter Crouch (Dhadha). She is also survived by extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 10:30 AM. The Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Kaeton will officiate.
