Patricia Colleen Pierce's Obituary
Patricia Colleen Pierce, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 30th, surrounded by her loving family. In a touching and memorable coincidence, she left this world on her 57th wedding anniversary—an enduring symbol of the deep devotion she held for her husband and family throughout her life.
She was born on October 1, 1949, in Camden, NJ to the late Eugene and Marie Watson Horne. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Virginia Horne and two brothers Warren and Larry Horne.
She raised her family in Blackwood, NJ. Patricia created a warm, welcoming home that became the center of activity for her children and all of their friends. She had a gift for hospitality, making everyone feel included, cared for, and at ease. Whether hosting impromptu gatherings or lively celebrations, she found joy in bringing people together.
After her children were grown, Patricia worked for many years in the deli at the ShopRite in Blackwood, NJ, where her humor, warmth, and spirited personality were well known. She cherished her weekly poker games with her friends and family and treasured the adventures she shared with her grandchildren—vacations to Disney, cruises, and even a memorable trip to Las Vegas.
Above all, Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She supported her family fiercely and wholeheartedly, always wanting the very best for those she loved. Her silly streak, love of a good-natured food fight, and her feisty, ornery demeanor will be remembered with smiles and laughter by all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Robert Edward Pierce of Millsboro, DE; three daughters Michele Stewart (Chris), Sandy Lynn Pierce and Patty Worrell (Charles). She also leaves behind two grandchildren: Ally Worrell (Aiden Dvorak), and Nate Worrell, one brother Eugene Horne, Jr. (Gale) along with extended family and friends.
Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
