Patricia Lou Taylor's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Patricia Lou Taylor, 89
Some people are simply born to become the heart of a family. Patricia Lou Taylor was one of those people.
To her children, she was “Mama.” To everyone else, she was simply “Grandma”—the title she wore with immeasurable pride and unconditional love.
Patricia passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on July 11th, 2026, leaving behind a family whose lives were forever shaped by her strength, humor, and unwavering love.
Born on August 14, 1936, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, she built a life rooted in resilience, determination, and fierce devotion to those she loved most.
Mama was one of a kind. She was strong-willed and never afraid to stand her ground. She was feisty enough to keep everyone on their toes, sassy enough to make you laugh, and classy enough to do it with style.
Her quick wit and unmistakable personality filled every room she entered, and those lucky enough to know her have stories they’ll cherish forever.
She worked hard throughout her life, owning a mobile home supply business with her late husband Willie Taylor, but her greatest accomplishment was the family she built.
Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether everyone was gathered around the table for Mexican food, enjoying a meal at Red Lobster, or simply spending time together, those moments meant everything to her.
She also found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She could spend hours doing what she referred to as “wishy” shopping, working on crossword puzzles, or flipping through her favorite trashy magazines. She found beauty in blooming magnolias, cherished every red rose, and always smiled when a cardinal appeared, believing those little moments made life sweeter.
With her signature sense of humor, she often reminded us, “Getting older is for the birds.” Even as the years passed, she faced life with grace, laughter, and the kind of strength that inspired everyone around her.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved Husbands, Bobby RR. Smith, William M. Taylor, her sister Peggy Clark, her son Ricky Smith, her Mother Bertha Fore.
She is survived by her children, Rayna Low, Robert Smith, Raymie Miller, and Ronny Smith; her sister Debbie Medvic; her brothers Richard Fore and Fred Fore; her beloved grandchildren Bobby Harr, Jessica Dorman, Kristen Smith, Sara Peiker, Micheal Smith, Stephanie Smith, Tiffany Churchill, great-grandchildren Emmaleigh Peiker, Aden Pieker, Zachary Harr, Nate Harr, Joshua Harr, Hailey Harr, Ethan Hansen, Lucas Hansen, Lauren Franklin, extended family, and countless friends who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort knowing that her love did not end with her passing. It lives on in every lesson she taught us, every laugh she shared, every family meal, every crossword puzzle left unfinished, every blooming magnolia, every red rose, and every cardinal that crosses our path.
Mama was the foundation of our family. She loved deeply, laughed often, and left us with memories that time can never take away.
Until we meet again, we will miss you every day, love you always, and carry you with us forever.
“The world feels a little quieter without you in it, Mama, but our hearts are forever louder because of your love. We know that every cardinal we see, every magnolia that blooms, and every red rose that catches our eye will remind us that you are never far away. Thank you for loving us so completely. We will carry you with us until we meet again.”
