PRESTON LEE ROGERS, JR's Obituary
Mr. Preston Lee Rogers, Jr. of Millsboro, DE passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in Lakeland, FL. He was 67 years old. Preston was born in Millsboro, DE on March 3, 1948 to the late Preston Lee Rogers, Sr. and Nettie McGinnis Rogers. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister Bertha R. Hudson. He retired from the DuPont Co. in Seaford after 39 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era where he earned the rank of Sergeant and served as a Scout Dog Handler and Trainer. He loved fishing, hunting, traveling and doing things for his children and grandchildren. He was a very generous, kind, caring, and humble person. Preston also never met a stranger wherever he went. He was a devoted father, grandfather and fiancAC. and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his fiancAC. Rosalie Sutton of Millsboro, DE; three sons, Troy Rogers and his wife Courtney of Millsboro, DE; Shawn Lee Rogers and his wife Jessica of Georgetown, DE; Timothy J. Rogers and his wife Shari of Gumboro, DE; two children of his fiancAC., Eric Sutton and his wife Nicole of Leesburg, VA and Jaime Smith and her husband Brent of Bowersville, OH, along with eighteen grandchildren, Miranda, Mariah, AJ, Samantha, Gunner, Pyper, Kagan, Trax, Adelynn, Drake, Tripp and one on the way that will be named Preston James (PJ), Hayley, Reagan, Bethany, Micah, Lena and Joshua. A viewing will be held from 5 PM - 8 PM on Monday evening at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. Millsboro, DE 19966. The funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Dagsboro Church of God, 32224 DuPont Blvd, Dagsboro, DE, where friends may call after 11:00 AM. Interment with military honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Rd, Milford, DE 19963.
