Raymond C. Hitchens' Obituary
Raymond C. Hitchens, 51, of Georgetown, DE, passed away on August 23, 2024, in Newark, DE. Born on January 8, 1973, in Seaford, DE, he was the beloved son of the late Raymond and Norma (Wetzel) Hitchens.
Raymond shared a wonderful marriage of 30 years with the love of his life, Lora (Toomey) Hitchens. Together, they built a loving home in Georgetown, DE, and were blessed with five wonderful children. Raymond was a devoted father whose greatest joy was his family. His children were his world, and he was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first grandchild in December.
He enjoyed fishing, going to car shows, and spending cherished moments with his family. His memory will live on through his children and all those who knew him. Gone but never forgotten, Raymond's legacy will be the love and laughter he shared with those around him.
Raymond is survived by his devoted wife, Lora Hitchens; his children, Ray Hitchens, Angela Hitchens, Christopher Hitchens, Andrew Hitchens, and Lora Jean Hitchens; his son-in-law, Anthony Johnson; his father-in-law, Jim Toomey; his sister, Doris Henry; two brothers, Doug Hitchens and James Hitchens; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, DE, with a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
