Obituary of Richard Gros
Richard Gros passed away at his home on December 24, 2016. Born in Passaic, NJ on September 29, 1949, he was the son of the late John Gros and Augusta Veenema. He married Linda Frey on February 26, 1972 and to this union three children were born; Richard, Jr., Christopher and Daniel Gros.
Richard was a devoted father and husband. He was very friendly and made friends quickly. Richard was a good person and helped people when he could. He was a United States Army veteran, a member of the Upper Greenwood Lake Ambulance Squad, Hawthorne Fire Company #3 and Operations Manager for Pequanock Disposal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Torma and George Gros.
Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Gros; three sons, Richard Gros, Jr. (wife Patricia), Ridgewood, NJ; Christopher Gros (wife Ellen), Ellenville, NY; Daniel Gros (wife Stephanie) Vernon, NJ; one sister, Georgia Cina (husband Sal), Lodi, NJ; nine grandchildren; Vincent, Jacob, Jared, Haley, Ryan, Tyler, Johnathan, Matthew and Isabella.
A Memorial Service and interment will be held on April 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM, Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 75 North Church Road, Sparta, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Northern New Jersey Veterans Cemetery ([email protected]) or Compassionate Care Hospice, 20165 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE are welcomed.
