Richard Dale Smith's Obituary
Mr. Richard Dale Smith, "Rick", of Dagsboro, DE passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 23, 2019. He was 57 years old.
Rick was born in Wheeling, WV on July 17, 1962 to the late Charles E. and Freda Smith. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Smith.
He was employed by Quality Heating & Air Co. where he worked as a Superintendent for the last twelve years. Some of his hobbies included carpentry, woodworking, and working in his garage. Rick was known as a hard worker, honest, friendly and a family man who will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Melissa Bailey Smith of Dagsboro, DE; three daughters, Heidi Smith (Nathan Sprout) of Georgetown, DE; Taylor Smith and Nicole Smith both of Dagsboro, DE; two brothers, Eddie Smith, Chuck Smith and a sister Debbie Smith all of WV. He is also survived by his aunt Debbie and Uncle George of Dagsboro as well as a granddaughter Hayden. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow at the Dagsboro Redmens Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
