Rita Faye Hudson's Obituary
Mrs. Rita Faye Bortness Hudson of Bridgeville, DE passed away peacefully in the care of her family and the staff at the Delaware Hospice Center on Thursday, May 25, 2017. She was 61 years old.
Mrs. Hudson was born in Vulga, South Dakota to the late Oliver and Shirley Pedersen Bortness. She honorably served her country in the United States Navy. She moved to Delaware in 1981. She enjoyed crafts, crossword puzzles, computer games, especially candy crush and spending time with her grandchildren who were a big part of her life.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 21 years, Victor Gene Hudson of Bridgeville, DE; a son; Steven Telthoester and his wife Samantha of Seaford, DE; a brother, Tom Bortness of Mandan, ND; three sisters, Helen Campo of Jordan, MN; Patricia Peterson and her husband Dave of Jordan, MN and Sandra Vasques of Savage, MN along with six grandchildren, Devin, Tristen, Romy, Madison, Chase and Nathaniel. Rita is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 12:00 PM - 1 :00 PM for visitation. Burial with military honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
