ROBERT WALTER LAWSON's Obituary
Obituary of Robert Walter Lawson: Robert Walter Lawson, age 92, of Millsboro, DE passed away on December 24, 2013 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. He was born on July 4, 1921 in Millsboro to the late Harvey and Blanche Phillips Lawson. He had one brother: Norman; and three sisters: Irene, Anna, and Doris, all of whom have preceded him. Robert served in the US Army during World War II. He graduated from Goldey-Beacon College with a degree in business. He married his wife, Betty J. White, who survives him, in 1951 in Wilmington, DE. Together they raised three children. He owned and operated Lawson's Oil Service, and was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church. He was also formerly a member of the American Legion Post 28, the Lion's Club, and the Elks. He liked gardening, and most of all was devoted to his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Robert Lawson, Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Millsboro; Keith Lawson, of Frankford; and Craig Lawson, also of Millsboro. He has five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A private ceremony will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Ed Wilkins officiating, and the conferring of Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriot Drive, Milford, DE 19963.
