Robert Jay Timmons' Obituary
GEORGETOWN-
Robert "Bookie" Timmons passed away at home on Saturday, November 1, 2025. He was 81.
Robert was born in Salisbury, MD, on September 22, 1944, the son of the late Preston L. and Dorothy Timmons Holloway. He was a graduate of Georgetown High School, class of 1963. Bookie served in the Delaware National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro. Bookie worked and retired from General Foods in Dover where he made many lasting friendships.
Bookie was a kind and caring person who loved his family and friends. He called his brother and friends every morning to check on them. He enjoyed Tuesday night Happy Hours and meeting his buddies at the Legion on Fridays. Bookie was friends with Cathy Gorman and enjoyed hearing her sing.
Bookie loved old cars and car shows and was extremely proud of his 1955 Chevrolet convertible that was the same model and color that his mother owned back in 1955. He also owned a 1965 Chevelle.
Mr. Timmons is survived by his beloved son, Matthew Timmons; his brother, Terry Timmons (Janice); niece, Lisa Timmons Richardson (Stuart); all of Georgetown and great nephews: Wyatt Richardson (Dr. Sydni) of Nashville, TN, and Garrett Richardson of Norfolk, VA.
Interment will be private.
