Robert E. Williams' Obituary
Robert E. Williams, of Millsboro, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. He was 86 years old. He was born on October 11, 1928 in Ashley, Ohio to the late Floyd Odell and Monnie Elizabeth Shelton Williams. Robert is survived by his wife, Deloris Billett Williams; one brother: Glen, of Alabama and his wife Ellie; Two sisters: Monnie Bayles, of Mt. Gilead, OH; and Betty Jo Page, of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by his children: Dixie Hawkins, of Millsboro, DE and her husband Steve; and Deborah Schrom, of York PA;Daniel Williams, and his wife Vicky of Mechanicsburg, PA; David Williams, of Lutz, FL and his wife, Becky; and a daughter-in-law: Jane Williams, of Dover, PA. He was preceded by four brothers: Walter; Owen; Shelton; and David. He was also preceded by a son, Darrell; a grandson: Scott; and a granddaughter: Tiffany. Robert was retired from the Federal Government after a career of 35 years of service. He was a member of the Indian River Yacht Club, at which he held the position of Commodore for two terms. He was a member of the American Legion, as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and served in the US Army at the end of WW2. He is survived by 12 grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews. A funeral service and Celebration of His Life will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 12:30 PM. Friends may call two hours prior, from 10:30 AM till 12:30 for viewing and visitation. Interment follows with Military Honors at the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, or to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Delaware.
