ROCHELLA V NOCK's Obituary
Rochella V. Nock, of Millsboro, De was born on February 1, 1932 to the late Harley and Marcella Johnson. She departed this life on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Delaware at the age of 84.
Rochella received her education at Johnson School where she completed the 6th grade.
Rochella a.k.a Rosie was a strong willed woman who loved people. She would make sure that she would help out whomever she could when she could. She loved cooking as she was known for her famous chicken and dumplings, she was a hard worker and she had a very quiet essence about herself. Now she could let you have it when needed though.
Rosie was a member of St. John's Baptist church in Millsboro, DE. She loved music and going to different church singing programs.
Rosie was employed at Townsends, Inc. in Millsboro, DE where she retired after 15 years of service. She retired and became an entrepreneur; she had her own cleaning service.
In addition to her parents, Rochelle was preceded in death by husband; Reuben Nock and her siblings: 3 sisters; Vivian I. Johnson, Barbara H. Johnson, Blonnie McCall; five brothers; George Edsel, Randall, Kendall, Elson and Crawford Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons; Travanian (Helen) Johnson and Jeff (Kelly) Nock, a special daughter whom she raised as her own Chris (Roland) Harris, one step-daughter; Andela Roberts of Florida; one step- son Reuben Nock, Jr. of Florida and one brother; Harlin (Jean) Johnson of Georgetown, DE, two sister-in-laws Barbara and Beatrice Johnson of Millsboro, DE., 4 granddaughters; Nikhea White, Carla Elmandorf, Alkether Elmandorf and Lamesha Elmandorf Pope, 2 grandsons; Eric Brown and Michael Coursey; 7 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren., and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins with many, devoted friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. John 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 11:00 AM - 12:45 for the viewing and visitation. Burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery.
