Obituary of Rodney A. Hitchens:
Rodney A. Hitchens, 66, of Millsboro, DE passed away in the care of Bayhealth Sussex in Milford, DE on February 11, 2020. He was born on February 23, 1953 to the late Harvey Layton Hitchens, Sr. and Maxine Johnson Hitchens in Millsboro. He was a technician for Merck Laboratories. Rodney was associated with the Nanticoke Indian Tribe. He liked working on cars, and playing pool. He was a quiet man who often kept to himself. He was also a hard worker, took great pride in his work and was devoted to his son.
He is survived by his son, Quinlan M. Heacook, of Georgetown and was preceded by another son, Rodney Beckett in 1991. Rodney is also survived by his siblings: Sonia West (Randy), of Millsboro; Angela Burton (Ross), of Dover, DE; Harvey Layton Hitchens (Irene), of Millsboro; Gerald Hitchens, of Millsboro; and Terrence Hitchens, of California. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
A viewing and visitation will be held at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 6:00 till 7:00 PM. A funeral service follows at 7:00 PM with Elder Edward Cannon Officiating.
