Obituary for Roger William Shafer
Roger William Shafer, born on January 8, 1966, in East Stroudsburg, PA, passed away peacefully at home in Laurel, DE, on October 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved son of Edwin and Edna (Pugh) Shafer.
Roger worked as a dedicated painter throughout his life. In his free time, he found joy in leatherworking, woodworking, and had a deep passion for trains, which he loved throughout his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Kim A. Shafer, and his cherished daughters, Mandilee Kerprich (John), Marina Wharton (Bradley Sr.), and Kelsey Jarvis (Storm). Roger was also a proud grandfather to Elijah Kerprich, Ethan Kerprich, Bradley Wharton, Jr., Evangeline Wharton, and Kali Jarvis. He is further survived by his sisters, Rose McHugh, Alice Bergen, Joann Shafer, Deanna Thomson, and Virginia Coleman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held in Roger's honor on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 am at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, DE. A visitation will take place from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service.
Roger's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
