Obituary of Mr. Ronald Clayton "Porky" Joseph, Sr.
Mr. Ronald Clayton "Porky" Joseph, Sr., died August 8, 2020 of complications of pneumonia at Beebe Hospital. He was born October 8, 1944 in Salisbury, MD; son of Harley Clayton Joseph and Nina Grace Joseph of Gumboro, DE. Ronald graduated from Millsboro High School in 1962, and, married his high school sweetheart, Colleen June Joseph. They had 57 years of marriage.
Ronald retired as a Lab Tech / Biochemist for Kraft Foods in Dover after 36 years. He was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinal fan and would watch every game, cheering from his living room chair. Ronald also enjoyed his church family at Gumboro Wesleyan Church where he would love to sing solos when asked. He loved the beach, surf fishing, family events / dinners and telling old stories. Most of all was the dedication and love he had for his wife whom he cared for through all their married years.
In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his only sibling, Harley Lee Joseph.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Colleen, are his children Ronald Jr., Barry and wife Cindy of Georgetown, DE, Sonda, Amy and husband Brad Ferguson of Harbeson. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Kristen and Brooke Joseph, Michael Collins, Kory and Logan Joseph, and Evan and Lori Ferguson as well as four great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 12:00 PM to 1 PM for visitation. Due to the coronavirus restrictions, social distancing will be required along with masks. Seating will be limited for the funeral service. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Gumboro Wesleyan Church, 36842 Millsboro Hwy, Millsboro, DE 19966.
