Ronald F. Spadafora's Obituary
Ronald F. Spadafora, age 85, of Millsboro, DE, passed away on March 4, 2025, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. He was born on October 5, 1939, in Reading, PA, the son of the late Anthony and Grace (DiRenzo) Spadafora.
Ron graduated from Reading High School and later enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1959 as an airplane engine mechanic. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Hawaii and visited Thailand, Fiji, and various small Pacific Islands. After his honorable service, Ron worked as a foreman for the Polymer Corporation in Reading. He was recognized several times by the company for his contributions to improving the engineering plastics manufacturing process.
In 2007, Ron relocated to Millsboro, DE, where he became a member of the American Legion, Post 28. He found joy in his hobbies, including paint-by-number art, reading, word searches, and playing cards with his loved ones. One of his greatest pleasures was teaching his grandchildren to play poker, passing on his love for the game to the next generation.
Ron is survived by his three children: Ronald M. Spadafora (Debbie), John M. Spadafora (Sally), and Jennifer M. Cotter (Justin); his cherished grandchildren, Michael Cotter and Megan Cotter; as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will deeply miss his presence.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony "Duke" Spadafora.
Chapel Committal Services with Military honors will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
