Ronald Edward Wharton age 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 16, 2019.
He was born on July 28, 1936 to the late Margaret and James Wharton, at home in Seaford, DE. Ronald was a 1954 graduate from Laurel High School, a poultry and grain farmer, who also retired as a CW4 after 42 years in the National Guard. He was also a devoted member of Elliott Worship Center, where he served on several boards.
Mr. Wharton is survived by his school bus sweetheart Saralee Pepper, his wife of 64 years, 5 children Laura Carmine (Greg), Scot Wharton (Tammy), Lisa Conaway, Joel Wharton (Tina), Aaron Wharton, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, brothers Trent (Jenny), Jimmy (Sally), and sister Judy Baker (Chip).
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 :00 AM on Saturday, July 20 at Elliott Worship Center at 17249 Phillips Hill Road Laurel, DE 19956. The family will receive friends from 9-11 AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Elliott Worship Center or VITAS Hospice Care at 20773 Professional Park Blvd. Georgetown, DE 19947.
