Rosetta Marie Jones' Obituary
Rosetta Marie Jones affectionately known as” Tansey” passed away on October 5, 2023. She was 69 years old.
She was born in Accomack, VA to the late Stella Mae Bailey Hickman and Lester Hickman who survives her. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by two sisters Sheryl Hickman McKlean and Regina Bailey.
She was employed by Roses in Millsboro, DE for over 20 years before retiring in 1989. She was also a counselor for youth and community programs.
Rosetta enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, sharing laughter, listening to music, watching movies and Tyler Perry plays, frequenting yard sales, shopping, painting fingernails and toenails.
In addition to her father, Rosetta is survived by five sons: Charles Hickman of Dover, DE: Ralph Hickman of El Paso, TX, George Jones, II of Ellendale, DE; Deontray Hickman of Dover; DE Keith Waters of Dover, DE; two daughters: Jacqueline Hickman of Georgetown, DE and Tikisia Mosley of Harrington, DE; her lifetime partner Donnie Griffin; siblings: Lester Hickman of Dagsboro, DE; Lee Lewis of Millsboro, DE; Ricky Hickman of Millsboro, DE; Bobby Lewis of Millsboro, DE; Joyce Ann Dale of Frankford, DE; Sandy Foreman of Millsboro, DE; Gloria Hickman of Millsboro, DE and Caroline Phillips of Dover, DE. She was blessed with twenty-six grandchildren and thirty -six great grandchildren. Rosetta is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service was held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the St. John 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Rd, Millsboro, DE 19966. The viewing was from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
