Rosina Catherine Sebold's Obituary
On December 10, 2024, our beloved Rosina Catherine Sebold, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Rosina, affectionally called “Rose” by her friends and family, was a longtime resident of Millsboro, Delaware. She was born Rosina Catherine Carlucci on May 19th, 1933, in W. New York, NJ where she lived with her parents and 9 siblings until the age of 18, when she decided to join the United States Army with several of her girlfriends.
Rose famously told the story about when it was time to board the train to leave for basic training, she found herself alone on the train platform; her friends had chickened out! That is the type of fearless woman Rose was. She eventually settled in at Fort Lee in Virginia, where she graduated from the Women’s Army Corp basic training in 1951. While in the Army, Rose served in Europe during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1954 after attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. After the Army, Rose moved to Washington, DC. It was here, while working for the telephone company, that she met her future husband Charles (Chick) Sebold. Rose and Chick chose to settle down in the Washington DC suburbs where they raised 3 wonderful children and made many lifelong friendships. During this time, Rose worked for the United States Senate, where she would eventually retire from.
Rose and Chick eventually retired to Millsboro, Delaware in the mid 1980’s and it was here she perfected her bowling game, honed her skills at the casino and enjoyed many years of visits from her family and friends.
Rose was predeceased in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles (Chick), in 2011, numerous siblings throughout the years and her beloved son-in-law William Beil in 2013. Rose is survived by her 3 children, Raymond Sebold (Charlene) of Georgetown, DE, Susan Spangler (Daniel) of Swansboro, NC, Nancy Beil of Georgetown, DE, and her honorary Daughter Gina Sexauer (Rolf) of Dagsboro, DE. Rose is also survived by her loving sister, Nancy Mussara (Tony) and her loving brother, Edward Ulrich. Rose had 7 grandchildren: Raymond Sebold Jr. (Alison), Michael Beil (Kai), Megan Sebold, Matthew Beil, Seth Spangler (Cathy), Miranda Spangler (Matt) and Kirsten Sebold. Rose also had many great grandchildren including William and Wyatt Beil, Hayden, Kai, Zane, Robyn Corey, Sierra, Raymond III, Megan, and Jeremy. Great-Great Grandchildren include Bentley, Mason, Alina and Sergio.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 South Washington Street, Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
