Roy David Barger's Obituary
Roy David Barger, age 70, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in La Plata, Maryland on June 3, 1955, Roy was the son of the late James Barger, Jr., and Parry Welch. Though born in Maryland, he grew up and was raised in Pennsylvania. Following his graduation from high school, he went on to attend and graduate from Pennsylvania State University. Roy dedicated his career to refrigeration and facilities maintenance. He was a Plant Manager at Kellogg’s for 26 years, a Maintenance Manager at Perdue Farms for 16 years then at Allens Harim for another 10 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, technical skills and reliability throughout his professional life.
In his free time, Roy enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time outdoors. He loved his weekly Sunday breakfast with his sister, Janet. He also found great delight in driving down to Massey’s Landing and enjoying the tranquility of just watching the water. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren; Johnny Wilkerson, Jr., Tayetum Ruhl. Jaxson Wilkerson, Jadyn Ruhl, and Jason Ruhl, Jr., who brought him immense joy and pride.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Kay Virginia Barger of Millsboro, DE; his daughters: Heather Wilkerson (John) of Millsboro, DE, and Dawn Ruhl (Jason) of Millsboro, DE; and his siblings: Janet Byers of Millsboro, DE, Joan Alexander (Mark) of Keystone Heights, FL, and Randy Barger (Grace) of Marshall, VA.
