Ruth Virginia Corbin's Obituary
Ruth Virginia Corbin, 85, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026.
Born on January 22, 1941, in Snow Hill, Maryland, Ruth was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Marie (Holland) Hudson.
Ruth dedicated her career to serving children as a child nutrition professional within the Delaware public education system. She took great pride in her work and found fulfillment in helping ensure that generations of students received the care and nourishment they needed each day. Her kindness, compassion, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her.
Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sewell Thomas Corbin, and her parents, Edward and Mary Marie Hudson.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Venessa L. Corbin, who will forever cherish the memories, love, and guidance her mother provided throughout her life.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Zoar United Methodist Church, 67 Handy Lane, Selbyville, DE 19975. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately at Zoar Golden Acres Cemetery.
Ruth will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her dedication to her profession, and the quiet strength and kindness that touched the lives of many.
