RUTH ANN KERSEY's Obituary
Ruth Ann Calhoun Kersey of Millsboro, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2015. She was 89 years old. Ruth Ann was born September 21, 1925 in Millville, DE, daughter of Ward and Elizabeth Calhoun. She was raised on a farm in Millville, DE and graduated from Lord Baltimore High School. She worked for Collins & Ryan as a secretary and then opened a family business with her husband, Lee, called Kersey Motor Company in Millsboro, DE. Together they developed Hub Courts Mobile Park and the Hub of Sussex Shopping Center, the first shopping center in Millsboro. Ruth Ann was very active with the Friends of the Millsboro Library and along with her husband the Boy Scout Hut in Millsboro. She was also quite active in getting the first ambulance for the town of Millsboro. In addition to her parents, Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Lee S. Kersey, Jr.; her daughter, Teresa Kersey Living and four of her siblings, Ray, Reba, Richard and Rebecca. She is survived by her son, Kim Kersey and his wife Stacey Kersey and her two children, Delaney and Dylan; son in law Graham Living and his wife Debbie Living, granddaughter, Noelle Living McClogan and her husband John McClogan; granddaughter, Camille R. Kersey and her husband to be Scott Walls III; three great-grandchildren, Quinn McClogan, Graham McClogan and Paxton Walls; her brother, George Roger Calhoun and his wife Charlene Calhoun; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either of the following; The Millsboro Scout Hut, PO Box 51, Millsboro, DE 19966 or the Wounded Warrior Fund.
