SALLY ANNE NELSON's Obituary
Sally Anne Nelson, of Laurel, DE and formerly of Alexandria, VA and Waldorf, MD passed away at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE on June 13, 2013. Born at Fort Monroe in Hampton, Virginia on February 17, 1944, she was the daughter of the late William P. and Ellen L. Wolf. She was married to her husband and sweetheart, Ralph E. Nelson in 1967 in Washington, DC, after meeting him while square dancing at the Pentagon. She was college educated, and served a distinguished career in the Department of Commerce, retiring after 25 years, and having received several awards including the Bronze Medal for government service and Administrative Assistant of the Year in the Office of Administration at the Department of Commerce. She was a delightful woman with a beautiful smile, and an easy laugh, and she always had trouble saying no to anyone asking for help. She was a member of the Ocean View Presbyterian Church, where she was past Secretary of the Church Sewing circle, and the Sussex County Genealogical Society serving as both newsletter, and PR Chairperson. She was also very active in the Jaycee Women of Ohio. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children: a son, Christopher C. Nelson, and his wife Elizabeth, and a daughter, Elizabeth A. Nelson, both of Maryland. She is also survived by two brothers: William P. Wolf, Jr., and his wife Sally of Georgia; and Robert R. Wolf, and wife Elaine of Delaware. She also has two grandchildren: Ashley L. Nelson, and Jessica L. Nelson, and a great grandson: Max Shlagel. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Her Life will be held at the Ocean View Presbyterian Church, on Central Avenue in Ocean View, DE on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Kerry Schull will officiate, inurnment follows in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
