Scott Allen Hovatter's Obituary
Scott Allen Hovatter, age 48, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 24th in Millsboro.
He was born March 27, 1973, in Seaford, DE, and he attended school in Seaford. He was an
18-year veteran lineman and most recently with Delmarva Power, where loved his job. More
importantly, he loved his work family. Scott was always the life of the party. To know him was to love him. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed offshore fishing and hunting in his spare time.
Scott had a deep love for music. There isn't a person around that didn't get some sort of song
lyric or music video sent to them from him. Scott loved his family, especially his daughters,
Brynn & Miley. They lit up his world, and everything he did was for them. Scott lived a life full of
fun and new experiences. Everyone has a "Hovatter" story.
Scott is preceded in death by his mother Janet Gillette (Laurel) and grandmother, Betty Carey
(Seaford).
He is survived by his daughters Brynn Hovatter & Miley Hovatter (Millsboro), brother
Richard Carey & Carmen (Delmar), and stepfather Tom Crowe (Mardela). Scott also shared a
very special bond with his aunt, Judy Carey (Seaford), his cousin, Amy Carey (Seaford), and
dear friend Stephanie Just Hovatter (Millsboro). He is also survived by many more family
members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 7th, 2021 at 1:00pm at Millsboro Fire
Hall in Millsboro, DE. We would like to honor Scott and comfort his family by a sharing of stories
