Obituary of Sean J. Carroll:
Sean J. Carroll, 68, of Millsboro passed away in the care of his family and Delaware Hospice at his residence on July 30, 2020. He was born on August 29, 1951 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Edward and Kathline Macsuta Carroll. He served in the US Navy, Retired after 26 years as a police officer with Jersey City Police Department, and went on to retire from teaching at the Seaford School District; Delaware Technical and Community College; the Sussex Correctional Institute; and the James H. Groves Adult Education Center. He was a Giants fan, loved walking his St. Bernard dog, but most of all was a devoted family man. He was a very giving person with the Christian attitude of doing for others. During his illness, prayed with, and for the nurses and hospital staff caring for him.
Sean is survived by his wife, Linda whom he married on June 1, 1996, and is survived by his sons: Sean Carroll, Jr., of Wantage, NJ; and Brian Carroll (Allison) of Hopatong, NJ. Also surviving are his step-children: Melenie Neglia (Chris) of Texas; and Brandon Mitchell, of Netcong, NJ. He has three siblings: Tara DeLuise, of Franklin, NJ; Nan Rosellia (Jim), of Kinnelon, NJ; and Tim Carroll (Lisa) of Florida. There are five grandchildren: Quinn Neglia; Owen Carroll; Paige Mitchell; Devynn Neglia; and Jordynn Neglia. In addition to his parents, Sean was preceded in death by his brother: Patrick Carroll, and a step-daughter: Alanna Mitchell.
A time for viewing and visitation will be held from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. Millsboro, DE with a funeral service and Celebration of His Life following at 2:00 PM which will be officiated by Pastor Joel Tice.
Interment arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
