Shirley Ann Lee's Obituary
Shirley Ann Lee, age 93, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026. Born on December 12, 1932, in Washington, Shirley lived a full and vibrant life centered around family, friendship, music, and joy.
She was the beloved daughter of Margaret Bednas and attended North East High School. Throughout her working years, Shirley was employed by Pepco and Spector Freight Co., where she was known for her dedication and friendly spirit.
Shirley had a true love for music and never missed an opportunity to enjoy time with others. A natural social butterfly, she made friends everywhere she went and brought warmth, laughter, and kindness into the lives of so many. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and the VFW, organizations she greatly enjoyed and where she formed many lasting friendships.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her 1st husband Herman Henry Schellin and 2nd husband Alan Lee.
Shirley is survived by her loving daughter, Karen Evans Blades (Dennis), son, Jeffrey Schellin (Marisa) along with stepchildren Angela DiCarlo (Jimmy) and Charlie Lee (Lisa). Her cousin Diane Roberts was more like a sister. Shirley was blessed with three grandchildren: Daniel Day (Jill), Michael Day and Catrina Greirson; three step grandchildren: Lauren Blades (Jeremey); Jason DiCarlo (Carla) and Amanda Krupitzer (William). She also leaves behind five great grandchildren: Delaney Grierson, Paxton Grierson, Everett Day, Wyatt Day Evelyn Day and nine step great grandchildren Jacob, Tanner and Amelia DiCarlo, William, Sean, and Emily Krupitzer, Brody Morgan, Brooks Morgan and Carson Harrington as well as extended family and friends.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30AM, on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Millville United Methodist Church, 36405 Clubhouse Road, Millville, DE 19967. Reception details will be announced at the close of the service.
