Sylvia Mae Fleshman's Obituary
Mrs. Sylvia Mae Fleshman of Millsboro, DE passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. She was 86 years old.
She was born in Berlin, MD on January 9, 1937, to the late John and Margaret Rocker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband Renzie Wilkerson in 1972, her second husband Albert Fleshman in 2017, a young sister, D. Rocker, a son Frank Wilkerson in 2013 and grandsons Fhillip J. Wilkerson and James “Shorty” Wilkerson.
Sylvia retired from Beebe Healthcare in 1999 where she worked as a Dietary Supervisor for over 20 years. After retirement she volunteered at The Christian Storehouse in Millsboro and the Sussex Pregnancy Center in Georgetown. Sylvia was an active member of Blackwater Fellowship Church. She enjoyed attending church functions, cooking, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. She was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by three children: Burt Wilkerson (Linda) of Snow Hill, MD; David Wilkerson (Loretta) of Fruitland, MD: and Sylvia Casteel (Greg) of Vista, CA; along with two brothers John Rocker of Fl, Robert Rocker, and a sister Linda Gray also of FL. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Sylvia’s memory to Blackwater Fellowship Church, PO Box 549, Frankford, DE 19945.
