Thomas N. Stevens Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Thomas N. Stevens, Sr. of Millsboro, DE departed this life on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. He was 78 years old.
Mr. Stevens was born in Northampton, County, VA on August 28, 1945, to the late David Wadworth and Irene Elizabeth Stevens. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother Jay Stevens.
He retired after working a total of 35 years with Holly Farms and Showell Farms, but then worked at Townsends in Millsboro, DE for two years before retiring due to his illness. In his spare time Mr. Stevens enjoyed working on the cars of friends and family, doing yard work, and watching soap operas with his wife Margaret, also known as “Piggie”.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Margaret Stevens of Millsboro, DE; two sons: Thomas Stevens, Jr. of Millsboro, DE and Shawn Stevens Sr. (Connie) of Millsboro, DE; three daughters: Valerie Stevens of Millsboro, DE, Cynthia Dorsey (Crawford) of Worton, MD and Starr Beckett (Keyon) of Seaford, DE. He was blessed with eight grandchildren: Dayshawnta Godwin of Seaford, DE; Kwame Stevens of Seaford, DE; Jovon Townsend (Michele) of Georgetown, DE; Aliyah Dorsey of Worton, MD; Na’Jaya Beckett of Seaford, DE; Keyon Beckett, Jr. of Seaford, DE, Shawn Stevens Jr. of Millsboro, DE and Javen Savage of Milton, DE. He also leaves to cherish his memory two great grandchildren: Jasper James Townsend and Karson King Townsend.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at St. John 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Rd, Millsboro, DE 19966. The viewing will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
