Obituary for Timothy Paul Yerkes
Timothy Paul Yerkes, age 58, of Dagsboro, DE, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 1, 2025. He was born on February 15, 1967, in Abington, PA, son of Nicholas Cressen Yerkes and Paula Jean Brennan.
Tim proudly served his country in the United States Army as a respiratory and medical specialist in the 82nd Airborne Division. Following his service, he dedicated over 20 years to caring for others as a respiratory therapist at Atlantic General Hospital, where he was deeply respected and loved by his patients and colleagues alike.
Outside of work, Tim found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His favorite pastime was fishing, but he also loved hunting, cutting grass, cheering on all the Philadelphia sports teams, grilling, and enjoying a good beer. He especially cherished time spent with his dogs and taking peaceful walks with them along the beach.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jacqueline Lee Yerkes; his beloved children, Nathan John Yerkes (Victoria) and Meghan Lee Yerkes; and his precious granddaughter, Jacquelyn Rose Yerkes. He is also survived by his mother, Paula Jean Brennan; father, Nicholas C. Yerkes (Merrie); siblings, Todd Yerkes, Tracy Barclay, Chris Yerkes (Kathleen), and Laurie Dorsey (Chris), along with his aunt, Madeline Brennan; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home and Crematorium, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. A graveside chapel service will follow on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Tim will be remembered for his warm heart, unwavering dedication to others, and the love he shared with his family, friends, and patients. His spirit will live on in the lives he touched.
