Tyler Ondree Short, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Tyler Ondree Short, Sr. of Frankford, DE passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the Delaware Hospice Center. He was 56 years old.
Mr. Short was born on September 19, 1963 to the late Harold and Doris Blake Short. He was employed by the Delaware River and Bay Authority in Lewes, DE for 21 years and then worked for Mediacom until his retirement due to illness.
Tyler was a lifelong resident of Frankford, DE, a graduate of Indian River High School and attended Antioch AME Church in Frankford, DE. He enjoyed sports, motorcycle racing, fishing, listening to loud music and loved cars. He was calm, quiet and well regarded in the community. According to his children, he was the definition of the #1 Dad.
He is survived by a son, Tyler Ondree Short, Jr. of Cape May Courthouse, NJ and a daughter, Tanay Purnell of Berlin, MD; and one brother Derrick Short of Frankford, DE. He also leaves behind a granddaughter, Dayari Mills and a grandson, Daquan Mills as well as a niece, Latoya Williams, and two nephews, Derrick Short, Jr. and Markese Foreman.
A funeral will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 11 AM to 12 Noon for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow at Antioch A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Frankford, DE.
