Valerie Mary Baldwin July 5, 1942 – August 5, 2025
Valerie Mary Baldwin, 83, of Millsboro, DE, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025.
Born on July 5, 1942, in Jamaica Estates, Queens, NY, Valerie was the daughter of the late Raymond F. and Dorothy (Willi) Clair. She began her career as an executive assistant for CBS, where she brought professionalism, grace, and dedication to her work. After the birth of her children, she embraced her most cherished role as a homemaker, raising her family with boundless love and care.
Valerie was the heart of her family. She found joy in daily conversations with her loved ones - especially her grandchildren - never missing an opportunity to connect and support them. A gifted cook, she had a remarkable ability to create delicious meals from even the simplest ingredients, filling her home with warmth and comfort. She adored birds, finding peace in their presence, and a healthy love for the art of shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas B. Baldwin; her beloved children, Thomas R. Baldwin (Cara), Katie Plemons (Luke), and Victoria Wiley (Joseph); and her treasured grandchildren, Conner Baldwin, Adam Baldwin, Isabelle Baldwin, Madeleine Plemons, Cole Plemons, Gabriel Bakely, Daulton Wiley, and Nolen Wiley.
Valerie is also survived by her siblings, Sally Southern (Robert), Raymond Clair, Dorothy Clair, and William Clair (Carole); numerous nieces and nephews; and her two beloved dogs, Abigail and Boone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mary Mother of Peace Church, 30839 Mt Joy Road, Millsboro, DE 19966, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 11:00am with a visitation from 10:30am-11am prior to the start of the service. Interment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, DE, immediately following the service.
