Obituary of Valerie Young Wright
Valerie Young Wright of Georgetown, DE passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE. She was 61 years old.
Valerie was born in Milford, DE to the late Robert Wilson Wright and Berthada Wright, who survives her. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Wayne Wright and John Fitzgerald Kennedy Wright.
Valerie retired from the State of Delaware after working at the Stockley Center for approximately 20 years. She attended Crossroads Community Church in Georgetown, DE, and most recently attended the Lighthouse Christian Center in Milford, DE. In her free time, Valerie enjoyed going to the pool and gym, shopping, talking, and socializing wherever and whenever she could. She was outgoing, outspoken, and loved people. Valerie was a wonderful daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her mother, Valerie is survived by four sons: Deshawn Wright (Iris) of Newport News, VA, Shannon Wright (Sara) of Millsboro, DE, Littleton Wright of Dover, DE and Arron Spady (Chelsea) of Harbeson, DE. Valerie is survived by 11 siblings: William Wright of Camden, DE, Antonio Wright of Seaford, DE, Ricky Wright (Valarie) of Seaford, DE, Ronald Wright (Ruby) of Bridgeville, DE, Kevin Wright of Georgetown, Corrine Moody (Lee) of Fort Pierce, FL, Jeanette Russell (Bill) of Clayton, DE, Mamie Lindsey of Wilmington, DE, Cheryl Wells of Newark, DE, Ada Wright of Loxahatchee, FL and Sandra Williams (Tyree) of Millsboro, DE. She was blessed with eight grandchildren: Deshawn Jr., Dionte, Demarion, Xzavaria, Shamar, Ryan, Jaidyn and Zavier as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 11:00 AM to 12 PM for viewing and visitation. Interment will follow at Indian Mission Cemetery.
