VANESSA K SMITH's Obituary
Ms. Vanessa K. Smith of Dover, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2015. She was 60 years old.
Vanessa was born on June 5, 1955 in Seaford, DE to the late Edward and Elizabeth Burton Smith. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by four siblings.
She worked as a CNA and also a private home health care provider which was her passion.
She was a graduate of Sussex Central High School, Harris Business School and also attended the University of Delaware. Vanessa liked to crochet, listen to music and crafts. She also loved dogs. Her favorite dogs "Smokey" and "King". She also loved a little wine, music and cooking her legendary fried chicken at 2 AM, nothing finer. Vanessa also never met a stranger. She was known for her compassion and kindness to others.
She is survived by two sons, Carlton W. Wise, Jr. of Dover, DE and Antonio Smith of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother, Voyd W. Harmon and his wife Bettie of Millsboro, DE.
She is also survived by two grandchildren, Carleya McCray and Christopher McCray.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
