Verma A Garris' Obituary
Verma A. Garris, 69, of Oak Orchard passed away surrounded by her family at the Atlantic Shores Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Millsboro on November 29, 2011. Born on March 16, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Harry Raymond and Mary Elizabeth Hickman. She was a beloved lady, who was devoted to her family and adored her grandchildren. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, loved eating out at restaurants. She was a dog lover, and loved her little dog, ""Elvis."" She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Franklin W. Garris, who passed away in 2006. She is survived by two daughters: Mae Abdin, and Marie Garris, both of Millsboro. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Chorman, of Milton and two grandchildren: Sophia and Amanda; and two great-grandchildren: Angel and Ahmaj. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 at Watson Funeral Home; 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE at 1:30 PM. Friends may call from Noon till 1:30 for viewing and visiting with the family. Pastor Robert Hudson will officiate, and a graveside committal service will be held immediately following at Millsboro Cemetery. Flowers are welcomed.
