Veronica L. Williams' Obituary
Veronica Linda (Street)Williams beloved wife, sister, and aunt was born on August 8, 1950, in Millsboro, Delaware to her late parents, Delema (Morris) Street and Richard Street Sr.
She graduated from Sussex Central High School in 1968, continued her education in nursing at Wilmington General hospital in Wilmington, DE. She was a very well-respected Surgical Technologist for close to forty years. Her co-workers have indicated that she was loved by the doctors and staff in Christina Hospital for her skills and genuine likeable personality.
She joined Harmony Methodist Church at a very young age and was very proud that it was constructed with timber from Great-Grandfather Morris’ family farm. Linda was a devoted proud member of the Nanticoke Indian Association
In 1977 she was joined in holy matrimony to her husband Harrison Cardell Williams. They were married for 47 years.
She always enjoyed cooking for her husband and preparing meals for her family and friends. She loved family gatherings, and at some point in time, we all enjoyed a meal prepared by her. She really, really enjoyed shopping for bargains, some of us also use to say that “she loved to shop until she dropped”. Ever so often, we wouldn’t be surprised if she and her 70+ year old Auntie Helen (accidentally) found themselves at a Dover Casino until wee hours of the night.
In earlier days Linda and Cardell enjoyed vacationing, taking cruises, and visiting various exotic places. They also especially enjoyed spending summers in Millsboro at their summer home. A favorite of hers were the delectable hard- and soft-shell crabs that were abundantly available in Millsboro.
Linda is one of six children and is survived by her sisters Vondalyn (Vonnie) Street Starks, and Vanessa Street, and brother Korwyn Street (wife Darlene Street), and sister-in-law Gwendolyn Street, brother-in-law Sam Williams. Linda is also preceded in death by brother Richard Street Jr. and baby brother. Linda was blessed to have three beloved God Children, Jordan Robbins Ryland, Barry Martin, and Darran Martin. She is also survived by Aunt Sylvia Morris and Aunt Zaidee Morris, nieces, and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and friends.
Veronica Linda Street Williams will be deeply missed but her spirit will live in us for ever. May she rest in enteral peace.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Harmony United Methodist Church, 27270 John J. Williams Hwy, Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 10 AM – 11 AM for viewing and visitation. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery. Rev. Janice Herman will officiate.
