VIRGINIA BUTLER DAVIS's Obituary
Mrs. Virginia Butler Davis of Georgetown, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Berlin Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. She was 84 years old.
Virginia was born in Georgetown, DE to the late Raymond and Elsie Jones Butler. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Hitchens in 1987 and James Davis in 2012.
She worked at Arrow Safety in Georgetown, DE for many years. In her younger years, she attended Georgetown Wesleyan Methodist Church in Georgetown, DE and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the American Legion. Virginia enjoyed cooking. She was devoted to her family and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by seven children; Carol Short of Millsboro, DE; Peggy Parker and her husband Jerry of Georgetown, DE; Steve Hitchens and his wife Carolyn of Laurel, DE; Iva Kline and her husband Mike of Millsboro, DE; Sam Hitchens and his wife Donna of Millsboro, DE; Raymond Hitchens and Brenda Windemuth and her husband Art of Eden, MD; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild along with special friends, Bill and Phyllis Walker. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Hebron Church Cemetery in Georgetown, DE.
